School contributions
In NSW public schools, all financial contributions are voluntary. Every student has full access to the curriculum, regardless of whether contributions are made.

Transition to Bundeena Public School
Purpose of the program
Bundeena Public School will:
- learn about each child’s prior knowledge and dispositions for learning by collaborating with key stakeholders in children’s lives, such as families, early childhood services and allied health professionals.
- build children’s familiarity with school routines including areas they will visit.
- support children to develop positive relationships with various key staff at the school.
- implement age-appropriate pedagogy and curriculum not a ‘push-down’ Kindergarten curriculum such as teaching Early Stage 1 syllabus content.
- support families in developing an understanding of learning during the early years of primary school.
Supporting Diversity in Transition
At Bundeena Public School we will:
- create transition programs that empower Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander families, ensuring a successful and supportive start to school for their children.
- consider High Potential and Gifted education when designing inclusive transition to primary school practices.
- hold discussions with families to understand their children’s strengths, interests and any specific challenges they may face.
- work collaboratively with families, early childhood educators and community support organisations is essential for identifying and planning for the unique needs of each child.
- plan individualised support that addresses the specific needs of each child.
